Fulldome.pro has long advocated for domes to be used in meditation and mindfulness. In 2019, FREQUENCY, with support from Lululemon, brought the idea to life at SXSW. FREQUENCY offers breathwork classes delivered via live-stream, on-demand, or in group workshops.
Domes for meditations
SXSW they used a 23-foot (7-meter) dome with projection to enhance their regular breathwork classes and bring groups of strangers together for a powerful, therapeutic, and energizing experience.
It was a great success. So successful, it was repeated in a 46-foot (14-meter) dome at an Arizona event, and that FREQUENCY purchased their own 20-foot (6-meter) dome with 3K projection system for ongoing use in New York City.
From preliminary discussions, through to temporary events, and on to a permanent setup, Fulldome.pro has been excited to partner with FREQUENCY and provide advice on domes and content creation and format. The Fulldome.pro team trained the FREQUENCY staff in all aspects of the day-to-day running and maintenance of the dome and projection system. The FREQUENCY creative team produce new content for the dome regularly and thanks to the Fulldome.pro Media Encoder, a customized version of the software used by productions studios and our own content creation team, they can easily load it onto their Media Server, keeping the dome experience fresh for returning patrons.
The success of the FREQUENCY Dome has shown the enormous potential of using domes for wellness, mindfulness, and meditation.
