SHOW ME FULLDOME CINEMA

Fulldome.pro made its first trip across the Tasman to demonstrate our 8-metre portable dome at the Show Me Wellington Expo in the New Zealand capital. In a busy day at TSB Arena, many visitors, including the Mayor of Wellington, and several business identities experienced fulldome cinema and marvelled at the range of content available in this exciting, immersive format.

ONE DOME, TWO DAYS, FIVE THOUSAND VISITORS!

Long queues formed at the Alto Pune Comic Con 2017 for the immersive fulldome cinema. We managed to pack up to forty guests into the 8-meter portable dome, but had to keep show times short so everyone had a chance to share in the magic. Over the two-day event over 5,000 people got a taste of the fulldome experience and, judging by the ‘oohs’ and ‘ahs’ emanating from the dome, they will be back for more next time.

“Holy 360 cinema Batman!”

Winter is coming…

“I stand for truth, justice, and… whatever”

“Would you like a little more tea?”

The queue tried to keep cool in the shade.

We’re not convinced either!

CORAL: REKINDLING VENUS COMES HOME FOR THE FIRST TIME

The stunning 2012 fulldome film “Coral: Rekindling Venus”, from renowned artist Lynette Wallworth, had never been shown in Sydney, where it was made. An 8-meter portable dome and the passion of John Maynard, the film’s producer, made it possible for the first time. In just four afternoons at Carriageworks, over 1300 people saw the film, many having their first fulldome cinema experience.

We also had our 3 meter STUDIO DOME on hand to demonstrate how production studios can use smaller domes to help with content creation and museums or galleries can use dome for small immersive video exhibitions.

The dome as it arrived at Carriageworks. From this…

…we find the parts needed…

…do a lot of clicking…

…hang the screen…

…put on the cover…

…to get a completed dome!

The audience gets comfortable on bean bags before the show begins. Switch of that phone!

Now we can get a coffee.
