In November 2016, Facebook held their first Social Good Forum, where they announced several new tools to do good in the community and help keep people safe. One tool, Safety Check, allows people notify friends and family that they are OK during a crisis. Facebook used a https://fulldome.pro/domes/dome-5-open/5 meter (16ft) dome and custom content from Fulldome.pro to show how a tornado could activate Safety Check and how alerts and status messages could spread around the world to quickly let people know friends are safe. This is a perfect example of an immersive environment being used to create a feeling of presence and empathy, without actually putting the audience in any danger.
